Hello, I'm Paul, Nature Planet Author, All the Birds Field Photographer and RMfor2 Lodging Host ... and into the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains I went! While living at 9000' in the Mountain Town of Frisco Colorado, it was my project to restore the dated lodging operations of an old log cabin and make it a business. The historic cabin was used for loggers and gold miners back in the day and then later repurposed and used as a Hostel. With weeks of restorations behind me, I soon began to operate the nine bedroom three bath Woods Inn, as a comfortable Bed & Breakfast Lodge, hosting many guests destined for world class winter skiing and all the wonderful adventuring the Rocky Mountains provided. And yes, there was a ghostly guest also. A haunted added charm you might say. The Inn's rustic sit down dining and our menu of fondue, bottled wines and chocolate deserts added to the comforts everyone would later enjoy after a day skiing the diamonds. The Rocky Mountain adventures were precious to our guests and our fondue dinner with horse drawn sleigh ride a favorite choice and a wonderful way to share their day before bed. Fireplace warmed and candle sconce ambiance throughout the knotty pine interior was exceptional at night. Welcome morning in for as many as 20 guests waking to the overnight snow and a crystal blue Rocky Mountain sky. It was then my chef hat and breakfast was served. The travelers had reached their destination, slept comfortably and sipped on hot coffee while enjoying window views of the fresh powder snow. The skiers were anxious to get on the hill, and for the others, time to check out for their journey home. Housekeeping then prepped the Inn's guest rooms while I hit the slopes at Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone or Arapahoe Basin, each ski resort with exceptional terrain for world class winter sport experiences. With a couple hours on the slopes, it was then back to check-in the Inn's new arrivals and help the kitchen staff get ready for our dinner guests. A busy lifestyle throughout a winter filled with powdered snowfalls and then the warmth of spring with groomed runs until the resorts closed for the season. Welcome summer in with my sons arriving to enjoy the Rocky Mountain small town community appeal and the wonderful lifestyle it provided us. After the Inn was sold, over time I later created business success as Titan Doors, a National Service Company providing On Call commercial door repair and replacement for many well recognized Retail Store Chains & Companies throughout the US 48, Alaska and Hawaii. Twelve years as Managing Contractor with my office in Newport Beach California.
